“For I know I hear a bittersweet song”

Exciting news today with the announcement that ABBA’s comeback single ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ has been nominated for the Recording Academy’s GRAMMY for Record of the Year, alongside such strong competition as songs by Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga (from 95-year-old Mr Bennett’s final album), Billie Eilish (ROTY winner for 2020 and 2021), and multi-nominee Lil Nas X. See the full list of nominees here and more about the ROTY nominees here.
Previous ROTY winners include ‘Uptown Funk’ by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, ‘Hello’ by Adele, ‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Celine Dion, ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston, ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ by Bette Midler, ‘Beat It’ by Michael Jackson, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ by Simon and Garfunkel, ‘Strangers In The Night’ by Frank Sinatra, right back to the first ROTY in 1959 ‘Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)’ by Domenico Modugno, which you might remember came third in the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest.
This is ABBA’s first ever GRAMMY nomination. In 2015 ‘Dancing Queen’ was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The 64th GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast on Monday 31 January 2022.
UPDATE: the GRAMMY Awards ceremony has been postponed until 3 April 2022.
